Wood Pigeon – Fujifilm X-T4 & Fujinon 100-400mm (1/1000, f/5.6, ISO250, 360mm)
During lockdown I spent some time photographing the birds which visit our garden in Northumberland. Despite being in a semi-rural location, we don’t get many species. Wood pigeons and common starlings are plentiful with the occasional house sparrow, blue tit and dunnock.
This wood pigeon was sitting on top of a streetlight on the road outside my garden. With some careful positioning and a low angle, I was able to use our hedge to block out the streetlight. A shallow depth of field rendered the hedge into a blur – foregrund mush!
