Mastering Your Nikon Digital SLR

Your Nikon digital SLR is an amazing piece of photographic technology but to the beginner it can be an incredibly daunting piece of kit too! I’ve designed these photography workshops to help you get to grips with the technical and creative potential of your Nikon digital SLR camera.

Throughout these workshops I’ll help you understand the key features of your camera and how and why they are used in photography. We’ll look at the basic principles of photography including exposure, focusing and the use of lenses. We’ll explore the various functions of your camera, the menu system and body controls and how best to use them. I’ll simplify the numerous autofocus settings to show you how to get sharp photographs in a variety of scenarios.

Your camera will come with a manual which is great at telling you where to find specific functions and settings and how to change them but it doesn’t do much of a job in elaborating upon why. I’ll give you the confidence to help you get the best out of your Nikon digital SLR camera!

These workshops are arranged on an ad hoc basis for individuals or small groups. Locations can be arranged to suit your requirements or selected from one of those featured below. As with all of my workshops I will contact you in advance to determine your level of knowledge and discuss anything specific you’d like to learn. However, if you think of something during the workshop, just let me know and I’ll help as we go along. After the workshop I am always happy and willing to keep in touch with people to offer any ongoing help and feedback.

Alan, many thanks for our one to one Nikon DSLR workshop yesterday. It was a great day and I now know how to set my camera up for all types of photography.

Anybody reading this if you need to learn from a professional then Alan is the man! An all round good guy and very patient – he needed to be with me! All joking aside he knows his stuff and I would recommend Alan’s workshops to anybody. Onwards and upwards to better photography for me!
