  It’s not often I delve into the world of black & white photography. While judging the regional selection for the national Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust photography competition I was inspired by a photograph I had selected as a winner. It was of course a black and white photograph and was of a cygnet being carried along on…  I’m not sure if this is just the second year these fantastic grebes have bred at the urban lake in Killingworth in Tyne & Wear. I missed them last year so I was quite keen to photograph them this year. At the time the shots were taken they were sitting on eggs so by now… no comments  Dippers are going to be a bit of a target species for me to photography in the coming months. I know of a couple of good spots around Northumberland so today I decided to check out one particular area I have been several times before but not for Dippers.
