Ndlopfu
Ndlopfu, a term of the Shangaan language meaning Elephant, spoken around the Kruger area of South Africa.
This elephant was photographed in 2022 in Timbavati, one of the private reserves of the Greater Kruger area. Given our close proximity to this wonderful mammal and our position and that of the elephant with the light shining from my left, I took the opportunity to get in very close and frame the detail of the eye and part of the base of the trunk and tusk.
